"Flowers and a car? Wow, you really pulled out all the stops," Chrissy says, grinning up at him as she climbs into the backseat of the car. She's been here long enough now to be aware of how easy it is to order one like this, even if it is still pretty surreal to her, but that's beside the point. No one has ever treated her like this over something as ordinary as her birthday. Of course, it also doesn't surprise her in the slightest how thoughtful Eddie is, how sweet, but that's no reason for her not to comment on it. He should know how much it means, and that she doesn't just take it for granted.

She smooths her skirt down with all the grace and practice of someone who's used to wearing short skirts and trying not to be immodest about it, angling slightly toward him. it's only a few moments later that the car pulls away from the curb. "You know," she says then, once they're moving, "I'm kind of excited about this... escape room?"
