She's known for a long time that her family was well-off financially, especially as she got into her teenage years and began to transition. She knows, too, how lucky that makes her, giving her an advantage that a lot of other people don't have. Judging someone else for their lack of it just seems stupid to her. It's not like where a person lives really determines anything about them.
